Bulgarian Hotel & Restaurant Association

The Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association (BHRA) was established in 1993 by Court Decree No. 17 173 of 20 October of the Sofia City Court as a non-profit association. Its basic purpose for nine years now has been to assist the development of the hotel and restaurant business and of the tourist branch in Bulgaria.
Today in BHRA are united hundreds of hotels and some of the biggest privatized tourist resort complexes - Riviera Vacation Club, Albena Resort Complex, Russalka Vacation Club, etc.
The Association has already organized regional structures in regions with developed tourism. The most important of them are on the Black Sea cost, in Sofia, in Slanchev Bryag, in Varna, in Bansko, in Zlatograd, in Smolyan, in Plovdiv, in Chepelare, in Borovets Resort 'Complex, etc. During last few years members of our Association became some of the most prestigious and famous Bulgarian hotels as Radisson SAS, Sheraton Sofia Balkan, Hilton, Bulgaria, Geneva, Central, City Planet, Bistra & Galina, Sevlievo Plaza, etc.
The Association is working on a program of development of hotel and restaurant business in the country and is advising colleagues for providing credits for increase of category and expanding tourist enterprises. It provides them with participation in every Bulgarian and foreign tourist exchanges, fairs, seminars, etc. advertising and public relations - campaigns for forming of image of its members and Bulgarian tourism. It deals with qualification and training of staff; marketing and standardization of hotels.
The Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association has permanent working groups for:
coordination, partnership and joint action between BHRA and the other similar branch organizations, administrations and other societies in the field of tourism;
categorization, issue of licenses and quality control;
increase of professional qualification of tourist enterprises' staff, international and local competitions, training and interchange of specialists;
development of projects and programs for tourism development and collaboration in their realization;
information services, public relations, advertising and international contacts.
